The Chitresh Das Dance Company delivers a performance celebrating the life, work, and legacy of its founder and artistic leader, Pandit Chitresh Das with Rachna Nivas as the principal dancer.  Das’s unexpected passing early last year galvanized his company’s commitment to present this project, his final work specifically reimagined for Zellerbach Hall. Shivais a powerful and gripping work, its drama showcasing the technical mastery, grace, and nuance of the company’s members, all of whom are recognized as master practitioners of kathak dance.
